Sugar Cookies

1 Cup sugar
1 stick butter
1 egg
1 Teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 Cups Flour

Cream butter & sugar, add egg and vanilla. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together and add to egg mixture. Chill dough for one hour. Roll out and cut with cookie cutters. Bake on cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 8 minutes. Makes 2-3 dozen.
